Operation Sindoor

On May 7, 2025, India launched Operation Sindoor, a series of precision military strikes targeting terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Background: The Pahalgam Attack

The Pahalgam attack, conducted by the militant group The Resistance Front on 22 April, in which 26 civilians were killed . They mainly targeted Hindu tourists, although some Muslims and a Crishtian also died . Read full details of the attack at Pahalgam Terror Attack .

Execution of Operation Sindoor

In the early hours of May 7, Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor with precision missile strikes on terror infrastructure facilities in Pakistan and POK, mainly targeted on Jaish-e-Mohammed and Laskar-e-Taiyaba . In this operation, no civilian or military facilities of PAK army were targeted .

Although, Pakistan military and media said that Indian Army targets civilian areas including masjids which causes civilian casualities . In this operation 9 major terror camps were targetted, few of them were totally destroyed . In response to this Pakistan military also tried to hit Indian Army key locations using drones, but they failed .

War like Situation

Due to Pakistan response, a war like situation developed then Indian Armed forces also begins to target PAK military infrastructure and there two prominent airbases - Nur Khan Airbase and Rahim Yar Khan Airbase were destroyed .

Cease-Fire

According to Indian defense sources, Pakistan DGMO contacted to Indian side and both countries agreed on an immediate cease-fire to de-escalate the situation . The United States and the President Donald Trump also talked to both sides and makes a mutual agreement to stop fire .

Conclusion

While Operation Sindoor achieved its immediate military objectives and also tells a strong message to Pakistan that it is a new India, and we will not tolerate.
